Modern events are adapting to captivate audiences in an increasingly digital world. By focusing on immersive, in-person experiences that screens cannot replicate, event organizers are redefining engagement through interactivity appeal.

Work with a team, Colby Stephens and Raquel Hensley, to create moments that connect individuals on a deeper level for a gaming convention.
Goal

The website's buttons featured constant motion, aligning with the convention theme to create a lively, engaging experience. Integrated motion graphics added dynamic energy, bringing fun and cohesion to the site while enhancing user interaction and visual appeal.

Tournament Trophy
This 3D-sculpted trophy features pressable keyboard-style buttons as its centerpiece, symbolizing the interactive spirit of gaming. Mounted on a sleek, angled glass stand, the trophy is crafted to captivate and highlight the achievement it represents, making it the perfect award for the AFK Expo champions.
Prints
Raquel led the creation of cohesive print designs, including posters, lanyards, signage, and badges. Her work aligned with the convention theme, color scheme, and website aesthetic for a seamless user experience.
Motion Graphics
Colby Stephens led in the motion graphics and the branding of the convention. Dynamic animations will be displayed during speaker panels, showcasing speaker names and session titles. For idle screens, captivating motion designs aligned with the convention’s aesthetic, keeping attendees engaged.
Takeaway
For this collaborative project, ongoing communication was required to maintain alignment and consistency across all designs. Regular discussions ensured that every designer clearly understood the style guidelines and the convention’s overall vision. This approach allowed each component, from print to digital assets, to seamlessly complement one another. The result was a cohesive and unified experience that reflected the convention’s theme.
