Problem
In order for brands to thrive, creating unique experiences that are shareable between their customers is key. Augmented Reality (AR) presents a significant opportunity for brands to enhance customer engagement. I designed Genshin Impact inspired Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons and an AR experience to preview them and interact with their box.
Overview
By designing Genshin Impact-inspired Joy-Cons and creating an AR experience, I provided an interactive, immersive way for customers to engage with the product.
Solution
Research
In designing the limited-edition Genshin Impact-inspired Joy-Cons, I incorporated the game’s visual language, using distinctive color schemes and symbols from Teyvat. Inspired by the wishing design, Genshin Impact logo, and domain patterns, the Joy-Cons align with familiar game elements, sparking excitement among players.
Box Design
Creating a box design for the Genshin Impact-inspired Joy-Cons, allowed for a visually capturing essence of the game while enhancing the product’s appeal to fans. The packaging serves as a critical first impression, showcasing the exclusivity of the design, ultimately driving excitement and engagement among gamers.
Joy-Cons Design
The limited-edition Joy-Cons were inspired by the visual elements found in Genshin Impact, incorporating iconic motifs, color palettes, and symbols from the game’s world. The design details reflect the aesthetic of Teyvat, allowing players to feel more connected while playing Genshin Impact.
AR Experience
By creating an AR experience to preview the Genshin Impact-inspired Joy-Cons, it bridged the gap between physical products and digital engagement. This feature allowed customers to interact with the designs in a more immersive and engaging way. This engagement gives the customers a memorable experience.

The Genshin Impact-inspired Joy-Cons demonstrate how thoughtful design and innovative AR experiences can elevate brand engagement and customer excitement.
